Carpin4Heroes a history...
Mal Storey (a British Army vet) was sat at home bored when someone suggested to him that he organise a charity carp fishing event, and thereby Carpin4Heroes was born. This was back in the autumn of 2009, various conversations were then held between a number of people, Ian Bayliss talked to Dave Marle who generously offered Great Linford Lakes as a venue, the first event in that year was held in November on Linford One, there were 15 people in attendance, the event was a huge success raising £1,800.00 for help for heroes.
Dave Marle also donated a hog roast free of charge for all those in attendance, a tradition which he has generously carried on for all subsequent events. Donations were received from various companies including Aqua Dynamix, Eric’s Angling, Tackle2U, Muddy Waters, UK Carp Baits, Big Carp Bait, PB Products, Freedom Lakes and many more, gratefully a number of the founder sponsors still continue to support this event to this current date. Rob Johnson generously donated polo shirts for the event, and Jon Bannister attended the full event and started his now legendary auctions.
The second event took place the following year once again at Great Linford lakes which has now become the home of the event, with over 40 people in attendance and raised £5,000.00 for the charity. The number of lakes used was increased to four which were once again donated by Dave Marle, more sponsors came onboard the now customary hog roast took place on the Friday night accompanied by the raffle and auction, once again hosted by Jon Bannister and Rob Johnson with Big Carp Baits once again donating the event shirts. The sponsors list continued to grow and at both events a flag was signed by all in attendance which was then shipped out to the boys in Afghan.
Finally last year’s event was our most successful to date with over 80 people in attendance, and the raising of £8,000.00 for the charity. Andy Underwood came onboard to help with the sponsors list which ended up a huge success, we had the continued support from Jon Bannister, Steve Briggs , Julian Cundiff and Richard ‘cash’ Farnham also added their support this year. We now look forward to this year’s event!!!!

First & foremost are the slight amendments we have made to our Rattler Indicators and Flipper Bobbins. We have now integrated our New Hockey Stick Connector which provides extra stability and has a universal attachment which not only accommodates our Rattlers & Flippers, but all other Bobbins on the Market. In addition, we have a new ‘light’ chain for our Flippers which we have designed for all those ‘tackle tarts’ out there!
As with all of our products, these are designed and manufactured in our factory here in the UK....quality assured and built to last!
In addition, we have also made a very very slight amendment to our Dumper Lead Clips (as highlighted & discussed with Mike Kavanagh at the last show), this change I believe will escalate them to be the best Lead Clip on the market. Bold statement I know but you just need to ask Mike.

The fishing includes the use of two Free Spirit 10ft 6lb Tc fishing rods per angler, with Shimano big bait runner long cast reels or Penn slammer free spool reels. Rod pod and electronic bite alarms and all end tackle. All anglers are supplied with a reasonable amount of free bait per day 4kg of pellets,1kg of maize and ½ kg of sea fish dead baits additional bait and boilies can be purchased at a reasonable cost. Our nine-acre fishing lake is set in an additional seven acres of tropical gardens, and have fourteen high quality two-bedroom fully air conditioned bungalows within 12 meters of the lake. They are fitted with ceiling fans for those who do not like air conditioning. All have hot showers, mini bar with fridge and personal safe.
The bungalows have large covered shaded balconies overlooking the lake, you do not have to fish outside your bungalow if you wish to fish other areas of the lake there are plenty of fishing areas available. There is an on-site restaurant built at the lakeside with stunning views over the lake including a pub style bar with satellite TV and pool table. We use an English chef for a full western menu plus a Thai chef for a full authentic Thai menu.
Overlooking the lake, for our guests' private use, we have a large 7m x 15m infinity pool built to take in the amazing views. The pool is situated near the bungalows in our private gardens.
